You know, books was just what I did.
Reading was what I, just what I did.
And it was what I love to share was how I connected with myself, connected with the world.
And I say this all the time.
I say, you know, growing up, I always felt a little bit out of place within the real world.
Whereas when I would read books, that's where I felt like I could breathe.
That's where that anxiety, that low-level anxiety would just release from me and I would belong and there was no fear.
And books were always my safe harbor.
Books were my safe harbor that I would go to whenever I needed refuge from whatever was happening in the world and when I needed to escape, that was where I went.
And they became a real source of, yeah, it was like belonging and a home for me.
It was in books and in stories.
And I have friends in books that I've been friends with for longer than my friends in real life.
And I've got books on my shelf behind me that I've literally had since I was seven years old.
So books and reading were just, as you said, imprinted into my life from a young age.
And they've always been the thing that I've been most passionate about.
Not always...
Not always outwardly, you know, I've always, and I'm sure we'll get into that as well, but I was, for a very long time, I was very shameful and secretive around my love of books.
But they've always been that one thing that I've always returned to, no matter what, and the one passion of my life.
Reprieve, reprieve.
Reprieve is a good word, isn't it?
