Now the reaction I think is mostly excitement, but you know, the fan, there is a segment of the fan base that,

rightfully so, is being a little bit, are we sure this is the right move?

Just because of his age.

So he turns 38 in, I think, September.

So basically, they bought his age 38, age 39, and age 40 seasons.

Now, the guy keeps himself in unbelievable shape, but he is coming off his worst year statistically, whether it's save percentage or

Goal saved above expected.

I think he was like a minus 23.

So how much of that is father time catching up with them?

How much of it is the Panthers were crappy last year and they realized it halfway through and, you know, as much as you want to be a competitor, you kind of lose that edge.

And the other thing to factor in here, he had three straight runs before this season where he went all four rounds.

That's a lot of wear and tear.

So the bet from the least perspective is this guy's had a long summer.

He can be rested.

He can be ramped up and ready to go.

And one thing Jake has said that yesterday that really kind of got my attention was that this guy wants to win.

Like he still has that fire.

He wants a new challenge.

So that's kind of interesting.

I'm sure the money is definitely a factor too, but he's got some familiar faces in Toronto and he wants to win.
