But I think that's the only place that I feel kind of comfortable writing, I think, is when you could easily, the same with like surrealism, it could easily fall into just completely arbitrary nonsense, right?
And you're trying to keep it just the right size side of plausible with an edge of sort of the dreamlike coming into it.
But I think all good writing does that.
And I think anybody who
writes anything that's worth a damn does that.
It's that negotiating that kind of knife edge between it almost being too sentimental or it almost being completely cold or it almost being too conceptual or whatever the kind of dichotomy is.

There are other black bags, yeah.
Even if she does remember him as the black bag, he could be any one of like 25 others eventually.
And you're one of the best writers that I know.
So that's really, yeah.
Yeah, that's kind of really upsetting.
No, I get that.
But I think there is a level to which it's humiliating to want anything.
It's humiliating to want anything in your life.
It's humiliating to want anything in a relationship.
It's humiliating to want anything out of your art.
It's humiliating to be ambitious.
