I mean, I think I feel a kind of kinship with her because, you know, she was doing a PhD and it was all, you know, very esoteric and then she started writing Elmet kind of as a way to think about what she was doing in her PhD but in a way that was accessible and that the general public could actually read and that's kind of what I try and do in my fiction as well.
