And I just wanted to read he's in a hotel lobby.

And he's looking around and he's like, it's kind of like it used to be, but it's not that he says, The last grasp of the old world, though even though that was framed, you could tell by the way the staff didn't fully inhabit their uniforms, a new layer of irony that prevented complete embodiment.

And I loved that because it really gets at how he is trying to understand the modern world and it's not what he knows and he's kind of he's leaving it.

He's gliding out.

i it's it's more and more novels are about this, like there's the Sigrid uh Nunes What You're Going Through.

It's a beautiful book.

And then also the new Meg Howry novel.

uh called body language that's hasn't come out yet is about three sisters deciding whether they will help their mum do voluntary assisted dying as well.

I mean this whole um grouping of people is kind of joined in solidarity by economic precarity.

They don't have money, landlords are the enemy, and the systems that are supposed to protect people in in Australia are are not working.
