So, um, I've got the privilege of having two perspectives, um,

So, um, so a lot of the things that like, um, there's a kind of mentality here, like where, like an artist or something has to make it overseas until for them to be appreciated in Japan.

So like a lot of the artists that I like, like Nujabes and DJ Crush and people like that, like,

They were like pretty much like just underground artists and then people overseas were like, oh, they're so awesome.

And then, you know, and then they get recognized here.

And this is pretty much, yeah, it's the case with so many kind of like interesting and great artists from Japan is like, yeah, just a lot of Japanese people really are not interested in that culture.

Like I can really see that even now.

Yeah.

Yeah, I think also because, like, you know, like in the early 2000s and stuff like that, it was before Japan was cool.

So, like, you know, with, like, nowadays it's, like, so globally popular and stuff like that.

And so, and there's a lot of, like, you know, attention towards Japan, so many inbound tourists and things like that.

But, you know, when I was growing up, it wasn't, it really wasn't cool at all.

Like, it was like, we'd go to, like, a sushi restaurant and you could see people just looking at it, like, going, that's raw, like,

What the hell?

Are you seriously going to eat that?

Nowadays, Japanese culture is more recognized overseas, but before it was seen as everything good is from overseas.

But in a way, I found there was not 100% unhealthy as well, because there was a lot of outward attention, they were looking overseas.

Nowadays, I think a lot of people are quite insular, like Japanese people.

so they've lost a bit like too much of a curiosity for like what's happening globally so um when yeah when i was growing up it was still like you know um like a lot of japanese people people were like backpacking and like they really want to go overseas and they were super curious and um and like even if they weren't going to like mainstream places like you know like america or australia like they were going to like like tripping around asia and stuff like that like

So there's a real curiosity, like a healthy curiosity if I ever see.
