But this young Ravi, he starts to gravitate towards the oil painting he sees around him, which is a very European style.
And painting with oil-based paints, it's very different to using watercolors.
It's not just a matter of swapping the paints.
There's a whole different set of skills and techniques.
However, in the Maharaja's court, there was only one artist that used oil paint, somebody who'd be able to teach Ravi.
