Gretel's sister's apartment had already been raided and so the sisters and Gretel's daughter, they pack their things and they make plans to escape Austria.
Amongst their belongings, they pack the artworks from Amina's home, including the Klimt paintings.
Now, that is very interesting because famously the Nazis confiscated expensive art.
They wouldn't let it leave Germany.
But there's a loophole here.
And even though Hermine had converted to Catholicism, she was still essentially regarded as Jewish, which meant this Klimt painting was an image of a Jew and was therefore allowed to go with the Gileas to Australia all the way to their new home in Sydney.
