To leave is an old line helping heal, fuel, and feed the world.

And um I should be very clear, I we do represent quite a bit on the ag bio and industrial biotech space as well, so I need to mention that.

But in the end, it is how do we keep um medicine affordable for patients?

And that's not optional, and that's not something that this industry wants to make a challenge.

And it's as you know, it's a very complicated complex issue.

Um there's lots of players that

that impact pricing, whether our our uh friends in hospital systems and then um insurers and and of course, you know, our piece of it.

But and it is a pro and we I think it's completely appropriate the policymakers are looking closely at what a patient pays and how benefit design works and

Yeah.

Where savings might be getting lost across the system.

The concern is really with these blunt pricing control policies that like copying and pasting from a smaller European nation is just not uh doesn't sufficiently account for how medicines are developed.

And this gets into the complexity of the industry we run.

We're

People are investing, second mortgaging their house to get that innovation, you know, just just right to actually become a company.

And um

Drug development is highly high risk and um capital intensive and takes years, if not decades, before the companies uh actually are to that point that they're commercialized and making money.

And it could take over a decade just to know if a therapy will succeed.

So when policy reduces the expected return

too early or creates uncertainty around the rules, it it can change which programs investors and companies are willing to pursue.

So for our small arts biotech companies, our rare disease market which is very close to my heart, and areas where science is still emerging, we really have to um
