And it just sometimes isn't.

So it was kind of the first week in November and James was sleeping probably 95% of the time now.

And I had this whiteboard to arrange who was coming in, trying not to overwhelm us, to have kind of one or two visitors a day in for short stints.

So his closest friends were coming and my good friend who had cut his hair when he was in there, she came in and saw him the day before he passed actually.

And she was holding his hand as she was about to leave and she said it's really hard to let go because we both knew that that would be the last time.

And I had arranged for the kids to come in on the morning of the 6th.

I can't remember what day of the week it was now.

James's friend was going to bring them in.

And during the night, his breathing changed.

And the nurses said to me, look, I think things are starting to happen here.

It's not imminent, but things are changing.

So I asked my mum instead to bring them in the morning.

And as the night went on, it was worse and worse.

And about four o'clock, I was awake with him.

I don't know why I was trying to sleep in the first place, but his breathing was so weird.

And, you know, you can't relax when your person is breathing like that.
