That's how we're going to, you know, read these words.

And she said to me, what do you mean by slide?

You know, do you mean like the slide in the playground?

And I said, no, no, that's not what I mean.

And then I just had this real aha moment where I thought actually it is just like a slide in the playground.

So I took her out to the slide and I said,

put her at the top of the slide, and I said to her, can you please make a sound as you go down the slide?

And like all children, she sat at the top and just went, wee, all the way down.

And I said, that's exactly what I want you to do with those sounds.

Connect them together.

Rather than chopping sounds, I want you to slide the sounds together.

You don't go down the slide like that.

Yeah, it's one continuous sound, rather.

So we went back into the intervention room, and I put initially two letters together, ones with continuous sounds, one that you could hold in the mouth the whole time, like ah, ah.

And asked her to slide those together.

And I actually had a slide picture that I quickly made up.

And yeah, she just... She got it.

She got it.
