You know?

Yeah.

So all I had to do was teach her the rest of the alphabetic code and then within 10 weeks, you know, she was reading quite proficiently and, yeah, and she just devoured.

that is because she would have been sliding because she already knew those words exactly and that's really where it starts oral language um you know as parents we need to really work on that with our young children before they go to school it really concerns me that children are on screens

so much before, you know, at all ages really.

But, you know, I see these young children on screens and parents say to me, but it's educational what they're watching.

But those things are a presentation to the child.

What we need is a lot more conversation with children that they don't just hear language, but they participate in it.

So, you know.

Who is?

Yeah, exactly.

That's right.

And giving children the opportunity to speak as well and contribute to that conversation.

Because oral language isn't just all about hearing language, it's also speaking that language.

And that's really the foundation of reading starts in those early years.
