And I certainly come from a position where I'm a parent of a child that was a struggling reader.

So, you know, my heart goes out to that because it's a really difficult place to sit in.

Probably the best things to do is...

Learn about sound of the letters and try and help your children with that.

Actually learn the alphabet code.

We know that the average child will take four exposures to a sound or a word in order to learn it.

Struggling students take up to 20 times.

And actually those with dyslexia can take up to 200 times.

So the more that we can do and help them with that and get that number of exposures up so the teachers are working hard out and the parents can help with that, that's great as well.

I would say almost 100% of the time I saw progress.

But sometimes children take a long time to get there.

But it's about keeping that consistent teaching, not flip-flopping between different approaches.
