And usually the nurse coach on the phone referred them.
uh uh you know referred them to further in person services if they needed them from you know chaplaincy or or whatever other members of the team.
Well, if need be, um, for sure, but for many people, um, yeah, so the answer is yes, they did.
Um, and they had met them early on.
So it wasn't really a big deal.
It's like, you remember those people that you saw, you know, early on from palliative care?
Well, maybe, you know, they could be helpful.
Um, but we really encourage the patients to be empowered to bring these um issues to their clinicians, their oncologists, then the oncologist would refer them.
Um but you know, occasionally we would call on their behalf if we had a patient that we just felt like with their permission of course.
Um, but yeah, one of the really important pieces that we missed out on um or we didn't really think through for both a demonstration project and enable two, we always had caregivers around, but they were just like always around.
It wasn't as though we had something specific that we were gonna do for them.
And so thank goodness, you know, Nick came along and had an interest in caregivers.
And we finally wised up because our first study, uh, the first randomized trial, we um looked at caregivers.
We did some measures with caregivers to see, you know, how they were.
Um but really what we wanted the caregivers around for and I it kinda sounds bad to say this, but
You know, patients can't always report.
Towards the end of life, especially how they are.
And we wanted to get a sense of that.
And so we did after death interviews with them.
So we engaged caregivers along the way.
