There's different things about IFS that make it unique, but that's one of them that I think is really interesting.
And as we talk about psychedelic-assisted therapy, that's another modality that brings in the spiritual and the existential and these larger transpersonal areas, which is a crucial part.
If someone's depressed, what am I here for?
Does life have meaning?
Why am I waking up in the morning?
Why should I be alive?
Like these are big questions.
Yeah.
So we need to go to that stuff.
Yeah.
It's not just like what's your thought coming out?
Can we change that thought and think about things in a different way?
That can be helpful to an extent.
Yeah.
But there's these larger, larger questions.
yeah yeah i mean true growth is not just about you know reducing symptoms and increasing functioning you know sometimes that's what people need and want and that's that's really helpful but often people are coming for much more than that like what is my life what am i doing you know i've done half of it and this is how i've coped so far but is this it you know and and what i want the rest of my life to be about and
When I start reflecting now on ancestors and my parents, and my parents are getting close to death, and what does that mean about my relationships?
They're the questions that we come to, really.
