It's a great slogan, the money over the many.
Israel, AIPAC, that's a subset of this, but it's his prime example.
He talks about it all the time, not the pharmaceutical companies, not the health insurers.
He talks about that too, but his prime example seems to be Israel.
So this is a guy who has risen for a lot of reasons separate from his focus on Israel and AIPAC.
But again, as you said, it's so central to his argument, you can't ignore it.
And I'll say finally, the fact that he's an Arab American, the fact that he's Muslim, I think plays into this from the point of view of being an effective outsider.
But I think some of the criticism he gets, some of it is a reflection of that, some of the fear of him, just as with Mayor Mondami.
Graham Platner and his replacement, Troy Jackson, they speak about AIPAC, too.
They're pretty anti-Israel, too.
And they did not face the same backlash.
One thing we should have mentioned earlier, I think, is the vote in the U.S.
House of Representatives where Nancy Pelosi and AOC voted to cut off military aid to Israel.
And the party had to have at least two private meetings to talk through before the vote, to talk through how people were going to vote.
My point is that El-Sayed gets more focus than some of these others because he's charismatic, because of the terms of the primer where he's running against an establishment candidate.
who has over the years been supportive of Israel.
And again, we should say,
AIPAC is spending tens of millions of dollars to try to beat him.
That's not made up.
