Our 2026 Make Acts Awards winners reaffirm my long-term standing belief, and you've heard me say this time and time again, we have the most talented workforce in the nation.

Last month, I was honored to join all four of our MECACS winners, their colleagues, friends, and family members at a celebratory luncheon that our HR team hosted in their honor.

For their accomplishment, our winners will be receiving a coveted MECACS awards plaque, one paid vacation day to be used at their discretion, and a $500 award.

Let's make that two vacation days.

Mr. Chair, we might as well keep the good news going.

You'll recall last month or so, I advised the board that we were promoting Ken Joyner to serve as our new director of the tax administration office.

And at that time, you had the opportunity to express your appreciation to Julissa Fernandez for serving as interim OTC.

And tonight I'm pleased to tell you that she was promoted to the new Deputy Director of the new Office of Tax Management.

It was a very competitive process and she shined from the feedback that I received.

And one of the many things that I'm excited about this new opportunity for Jalisa is

not only will she continue to lead the OTC side of the house, but she'll get exposure on the assessor side as well, so there'll be some cross-training.

So well-deserved, really excited about this new opportunity for Julissa, and I wanted to make you aware of that.
