Central Command says it attacked 80 targets throughout Iran, including command and control structures, as well as targeting Iranian forces operating in small ships near the Strait of Hormuz.
Overnight, Iran launched their own counter-strikes at targets in Kuwait and Bahrain.
Now the president says he believes the ceasefire with Iran is no longer in place.
The latest news we are getting is from U.S.
Central Command that they are launching new strikes against Iran, basically in retaliation after Iran had launched three different attacks on ships that were transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
These were commercial ships.
as they are trying to get oil, natural gas out of that water from the Persian Gulf into the Gulf of Oman.
But the Strait, of course, has been the center point for so much of what's happened since early February, where President Trump said it was imperative that ships would be allowed to move in and out of that area freely.
Iran, of course, had contested that, saying that they were going to be the ones deciding who was going to be able to move through that waterway.
Now, we don't have an official word yet from CETCOM on how many strikes are happening, but our indication is that this is quite large and a number of different targets across southern Iran are in play.
How the Iranians are eventually going to respond is a big question here, but this will also dominate the president's time while he is meeting with dozens of world leaders here at NATO.
NORAD says they dispatched F-16 fighter jets after a private aircraft entered what's considered a no-fly zone or a TFR, temporary restrictions, near where the president was.
No matter where the president goes, the FAA and Secret Service, they create these areas where they don't want any aircraft to be in.
What was more interesting in this case is NORET says the F-16s, when they got up next to that private plane, they had to dispatch flares to get the pilot's attention.
This aircraft was quickly able to get out of the area that the restricted airspace was in.
This is the second time he's been arrested for DUI.
