We hunt, we fish.
And some of the girls have had to go to town and prostitute themselves to get the money for the SIM cards because it's the only way they can make money.
And so when people tell me technology is better and we're all going to live better through technology, bullshit, you know, some of us will, and some of us won't.
And, and if you do it with your eyes open, it's much easier to help steer than to just throw up your hands and say, there's no stopping it or, or, or, or trying to keep technology away from these people is that they're in a zoo and you have the right to decide what they get and what they don't.
You know, I'm a pacifist at heart, but understand that violence is sometimes necessary.
A colleague of mine says, okay, look at Gandhi, one of the most saintly spiritual figures in the history of civilization.
And he organized all of this nonviolent stuff against the Brits, and he won.
Okay, I'm a native southerner.
I grew up in Louisiana.
This nonviolent protest really changed things.
That was great.
But would that have worked if Gandhi was facing the Nazis?
No, it wouldn't have.
So this whole idea like everybody should drink ayahuasca and we'll all do kumbaya, somebody sent me a website, really quite frightening, called Lucy in the Sky with Nazis.
The point being that some of these hardcore right-wing groups are using ayahuasca and psilocybin to reinforce these ugly views.
So this whole idea that, well, let's expand our consciousness and everybody just drink the brew.
We'd all be happy and live happily ever after.
You know, there's something to that, but it's not true across the board.
There's some people that just can't be rationed with.
It just doesn't work that way.
