For whatever reason, there's a thought that these coaches, it is a bit of a dent in their reputation if they go for these jobs and miss out.
You don't want to be the guy that comes second all the time.
And we've seen that.

So whether that's right or wrong, but I think that's a tactic that has come into assistant coaches' thinking.

But I don't think that's the case with Simo and Ken Hinkley.
I think it puts enormous pressure on Essendon.
If Ken Hinkley went for the job and said, no, no, I'm going for this.
And you want a good reason to give it to him over and above me.

I think that's a pretty strong case as well.
But they're not just going to walk up and give it to you.
You're going to have to go through a process.
