And I found out they were a military unit, which was even more surprising.

And I found out Australia had our own unit that we'd formed.

And I remember at one point I opened the phone book and I looked for Campbell Barracks and I rang the guardhouse.

I think it was in grade 10.

I'm like, hey, look, I want to try to join the SAS.

It was just some guard.

He's like, mate, I'm not telling you anything.

You've got to go through the Army, James.

So, yeah, I eventually ended up figuring out that I had to go through the Army and applied to go to the officer training in Canberra and got in.

Right.

Yeah, I left.

I was applying when I was 16 and then by the end of kind of high school, I was 17 and off I went.

I think so, yeah.
