Email is okay, but uh the phone is always better and they're more than willing to talk to you.
That's when I yeah, that's funny you mentioned that because when I talk to people about how I use email and things like it's almost always to arrange a phone call.
Yeah, I just don't have time to read long emails.
I can get so much done over the phone.
And these editors are perfectly willing to talk to you.
I mean, and they want to talk to you.
So I you know, I encourage people to go early to them, get them on the phone, tell them what you're doing, and go forward from there.
And you know, if somebody says no, it's a you know, p th that's that's the end of it.
Then you just go on.
Or maybe they know an editor that will be more interested and they'll pass you off to that editor.
Yeah, I mean I think the takeaway is you really want to look for a press that has a list that you admire that is in your field.
And that that's not too hard to find.
Usually the scuttle butt around the conventions is is about this press or that press, and they do a lot here.
And and so if you just keep your ear to the ground, so to say, is that a metaphor too?
