But most of the leaders of these companies came from that military-industrial complex thinking.

not a place where you saw a lot of women in leadership roles, and you didn't see a lot of women as franchisees.
If they did come in, it was very much like I was.
You were in partnership with someone else, a spouse, you know, a boyfriend, something like that.

And then often what I would find is even if the woman was the driving force, because you

And even if that woman happened to be the driving force, the communication and everything coming down from the franchisor was generally to the male partner.

Well, there's been a gradual awakening to it.
I mean, I think that the work that was started in the early 70s by a lot of women in business, and then there was more focus.
But it really seemed to me that by the 90s, things started to change much more dramatically.
There had been a big push for people to identify that there wasn't, you know, they were starting to do a little self-inspection.
