they cannot, I totally agree, they shouldn't be doing the clubs after school.
They also shouldn't be supervising the lunch break, I'd say.
So we get in other people, we standardise this.
I think the Department of Education, what they should do is set up a unit that's just dedicated to this, to helping schools to employ people to come in and offer it in a cost-effective way.
As you said there, it is expensive.
Even with the subsidy for three afternoons a week, one parent told me, so she would pay
like 300, like just under 300 for three afternoons a week.
So, I mean, it's still, you know, if you're not earning that much.
And, you know, when I lived in Ireland, I mean, we had no aftercare at my school.
And like the baby infants, they're out at like ten past one and there was nothing there.
Well, they have them in Belgium.
I mean, they've got the space for all the kids to go in.
The thing is, not every parent is going to use the aftercare because there's a lot of people who work part time, people who work from home.
So in the UK, like they have wraparound care.
That's what they call it, afterschool care.
And it's like a policy that you have to, you know, offer it.
And I mean, not every school does, but it's very much a priority for their government.
So the figures there are 40 percent of parents uptake it like they use it.
Right.
So it's not going to be every kid that uses it.
