And that was because it was the morning after that year's Castle Combe Formula Ford Carnival, which I think Peter Dempsey won and the massive Irish contingent that came over.
And it was quite a pub night afterwards.
And I crashed at someone from Coombe's house and woke up desperate to get back to my own house and didn't see the race live.

It's a really vivid image of John Lacey going backwards, probably with bits hanging off his car, loads of tyre smoke as he spin turns fruitlessly.
And it could be from any one of about five races that season.
I can't even picture which one I've got in mind.
There's such a clear image of cloud of tyre smoke, semi-wrecked Benetton, hopes going nowhere.

Yeah, I think there's at least one moment, maybe three at Imola, that look almost identical in my mind as well.
He gave a few options.
The crazy thing with this situation is it was so sensible a move.
When it was happening in mid to late 1995, this did not seem nuts in any way.
You look at Schumacher and Alessi, you go, they're different characters, but you also look at them and go, well, let's think back.
When we did the 1993 series...
How many times on commentary, when we were re-watching 1993, was Schumacher and Alessi being mentioned in the same breath as the rising stars, the people who would be the future of F1 title fights after Senna and Prost?
That was how highly rated he was.
He'd shown so many snapshots of it, and because he was at Ferrari, and before that, Tyrrell, with zero expectations, but then particularly at Ferrari, where you could put so much on the team being chaos, the car being a nightmare, that you didn't have to look too much into the Alessi details.
And at that stage in 1995...
the great Alessi moments, of which there were many that season, in a Ferrari that maybe was actually a lot better than we realised when Schumacher tried it in testing, but at that time you think, Alessi's doing so much good stuff in this car.
