He was not brilliant for most of 95.
He was the opposite of brilliant for a lot of 95.
Hill comes into 96, and Schumacher's still at Benetton.
Schumacher's still quick, and he's got Jacques Villeneuve trying to nick his lunch and winding him up at Williams.
Then you've got the ingredients for things to go potentially badly for Damon.
unless his winter reset has been so good that actually he can now cope with this twin threat of Villeneuve next door, Schumacher still doing all the same things from outside, because the Williams is more reliable now, so a lot of the things that made 95 hard in the first half before Damon made it hard are not an issue in 96.
I think, and Ben will be pleased by this, I think Damon gets it done in 95.
Maybe with some wobbles along the way.

I think Damon still gets it done with Schumacher in the Benetton because I think you get a better Hill who can cope with all those things helped by a better, more reliable Williams.
But he's certainly not a 50-point gap between the top Benetton and the Hill at the end of that season.
