So anyways, I'll let, I just wanted to call it that we've already touched on two good examples.

And I think Tim, you could explain them a little bit more rather than introducing a new example.

Tim's point on planning, like how much money are we going to make this year?

Right.

Like if I was just doing a cash based analysis of how much money we're making, let's say like in adaptive in our company, our software company, say that we sold all annual contracts, you know, to all of our customers.

And in January, like,

We collected whatever, 10 contracts, $12 each.

I'm like, great.

We made $120 this month, right?

I'm going to multiply that by 12.

Well, I'm going to make a ton of money this year.

because look at how much I collected in this one month.

But really you just collected all that money upfront because you did an annual contract.

You haven't earned it yet.

You still have 11 more months of service to deliver to the clients.

So our profit in the month is dramatically overstated if I'm just looking at money that came in through the bank account, right?
