I find it very difficult for Hamas to imagine Hamas giving up all its weapons, which is a precursor to anything else happening.
The other thing, of course, you can't forget, Kira, is that there's a war going on in the Middle East, the one in Iran, started by the Americans and Israel, that is very much unfinished business.
It is still continuing.
Iran's proxies in the region, whether it's Hezbollah or the Houthis, despite the fact that they've been pummeled by the Israelis, especially Hezbollah, are still participating in this war on the sidelines when required to by Iran.
And Hamas is also, of course, in the past has been a proxy of Iran.
I can't imagine the Iranians saying, give up all your weapons, guys.

even though that is what should be happening if the people of Gaza want to live with some kind of dignity and viability.

There are other rival groups to Hamas that, you know, I don't know whether they want to be on board or whether they can be on board or to what extent they are supported by the Israelis, which have always conducted a kind of divide in rule policy
in gaza i mean the whole reason why hamas was able to flourish in the first place is because it was supported by by shindet the internal security service of israel um you reap what you sow as it were and i don't know to what extent they play a role at the moment but also remember the board of the circle board of peace that was launched by donald trump and davos in january

And nothing has happened in the last year, really, to make that existence any better.
Well, again, it's contingent on politics.
And the big political event in Israel are the elections on the 27th of October.
