Eric, what are your thoughts on this?

The short answer is I think they ought to.

I mean, first of all, thank you for showering me with all that.

Praise, quite frankly, I'm overwhelmed, to be honest.

But as I said before, I don't do it alone.

I've got a tremendous support staff and phenomenal athletes that, like I said, execute at the highest level.

But yeah, in short, I think other federations, other nations would be very wise to adopt similar strategies.

yeah they're really missing out if they don't uh i think some don't either for financial reasons or because they don't travel with full teams you know they only come with you know just a a handful of stars if you will you know and so so i think they might be of the of the mindset well we can get by without an official coach because we're only sending two to three athletes

et cetera, but these teams that are more fully fleshed out that don't have someone with a clear chain of command, as Eric was talking about, because I think a lot of this is an operations argument, right?

Because high-performing organizations don't succeed because everybody has equal authority.

That's not how it works.

They succeed because everybody understands their role.

So you can compare this to military operations, a Formula One pit crew, surgical teams, airline, flight crews, you name it.

But everybody has very defined responsibilities and nobody debates decisions in real time.

Because as you said, Ryan, the head coach is accountable.

So I have to have the final authority because it's my ass that's on the line.

So allowing outside coaches, personal coaches into the decision making tree or chain creates tremendous ambiguity.

So that's one of the things that I think I've been able to fortunately accomplish.

you know, be able to eliminate is there's a clear chain of command.
