But often with those sites, it can be a lot of traffic.
The owners probably being, they may not be sophisticated.
They may not have known how to monetize that traffic.
And that's where, as an SEO,
You've got a huge knowledge advantage in that you can look at it and go, Well, I know this niche is really valuable.
There's a big following here.
Um, that's got to be worth a lot of money.
You don't pay for future profits, though, when you're buying a website.
You wouldn't value it based on future profits, but it lets us negotiate from a very powerful position.
And we know when we come to renovate it, we can very quickly add back.
Better monetization in, like in our last episode where I mentioned father and son team Dave, they bought that pet site and they knew it was underutilized because it had masses of traffic.
It's in a hugely valuable niche.
But even though it sounds impressive that it was making $300,000 a year, it pretty quickly went to $600,000 a year just because that it was in such a powerful niche and they had direct sponsors in the pet niche.
You you've often got lots of big corporates that will want to advertise on a leading website.
So this is where it becomes a real art form.
And I guess this is where experience really, really counts.
And if you're if you're listening to this and you've got SEO skills, it's worth understanding what the true asset value is sitting there in front of you.
And like I mentioned earlier in this podcast here, email lists.
Often there are old sites sitting around.
With reasonably engaged email lists, they're just not being utilized.
