So it's not like we were able to watch every single day tons of practices.
This isn't training camp.
And even sometimes we get fooled by

Last year, I would have told you that JJ McCarthy had a good training camp.
It wasn't mind blowing, but it was pretty effective.
And I thought, well, you know, he didn't have Jefferson in camp and you know, he had good uh joint practices, and he's gonna go into the season feeling pretty darn confident and good.
And you know, he does win the first game, but the first three quarters of the first game are like, wait a minute, who was it that we were watching in training camp?
And I
Definitely had that feeling as the season went along.
So that tells you that even when we get to see every single practice for an entire summer at full speed with pads, all that stuff, we still never really know exactly how it's going to play out.
And people want us to tell them how it's going to work out in minicamp when there are no pads at all.
There is no contact allowed.
Kevin O'Connell calls it the learning or teaching phase for the player.
Years.
And the rule that Kevin O'Connell has told us before during this phase is no one hits the ground.
Meaning that if you have, you know, a ball that you want to jump for, that you know you could potentially come down hard, don't do it.
If you if you have contact you want to make as a corner with wide receivers to try to break up a pass, don't do it because you're just learning the offense and defense.
This is not really the time to try to judge a corner.
