So they tried to work him into it.

Kyler Murray, if he's going to be your starting quarterback to get as many reps as possible.
So the real question that we're talking about is well, how long are they going to go on with the quarterback competition?
And I guess the answer really comes down to that depends on Kyler, and it depends on maybe even more JJ McCarthy, because you're apt to give the guy the job who you brought in here to be a starter, who's never not been a starter in the NFL.
So if JJ McCarthy
McCarthy can on a daily basis perform at the same level or better than Kyler Murray, then this thing could push later on into training camp if it was a charade and if it was all just Kyler was going to be the starting quarterback anyway, that's going to reveal itself pretty early on in training camp.
So, I mean, I think that's the number one question with the quarterback situation is just how long, at what point, if you're Kevin O'Connell, do you have to just cut it off and say,
Say, sorry, this guy is our starting quarterback.
To me, it's like early on in getting the pads on.
I think that that's when you start getting your real true reps with your teammates.
And Murray needs as many as he can possibly get.
So uh it'll be fascinating to see how it's balanced.
But I think that I would still look at it like if you had two race cars running a race here, one is McCarthy and one is Murray.
Murray's in the pole position, and McCarthy's in like 36.

He's not out of the race.
He's not DQ'd, but some things are really going to have to happen in order for him to make an argument to be the starting quarterback over Kyler Murray.
