That basically in all general elections, Northern Ireland, frankly, isn't covered very much in campaigns and I guess that's probably more down to the media than the campaign itself.
We had economists on our side.
Um not that many.
But the
We had lots of business people on our side as well.
Yeah, we set up Business of Britain to actually represent the business leaders in this country who actually thought that Britain would be better off leaving the EU.
Very few.
No, there were lots of business people who thought.
We've heard a lot from Craig, so perhaps I could have a few words.
If you look at the business community in the UK, there are lots of um SMEs, it's not just corporates.
And actually on the Romain side, they were very, very good at getting out the big corporate bosses.
You know, uh, you know, the head of Rolls-Royce and this sort of thing.
You know, we had lots of good private businesses, people like you know, James Dyson and um Anthony Bamford of JCB, um, Simon Wolfson of Next, so some great corporate leaders, but also lots of SMEs.
are actually the biggest, you know, employer in the UK.
So their voice should be heard within this debate.
So why was that important?
Why is the CBI moment so important?
That was, of course, in the um October of twenty fifteen, for argument's sake, ro roughly that time.
It was really important for us to show that business was divided.
There could have been a situation where you'd have the you know CBI saying that the businesses are united in favour of remaining in the EU along with the IOD and the British Chamber of Commerce, what have you.
