There is eventually a phone call that gets through to Dr. Pomerantz, and he agrees to see the child and meet with Dr. Cox.
He performs a physical evaluation of the child, and everything that he's seeing in that physical evaluation tells him that this child needs to be evaluated for physical abuse.
Yeah, he makes a referral to the child abuse team at Children's Hospital Wisconsin.
He takes photographs to show the linear fashion of the bruising and the locations of the bruising on the child and also forward those photographs on to the CAPS team.

But it's clearly coming from an emotional state after he's had time to reflect on the fact that he knows Dr. Cox and he knows the repercussions of his actions of reporting based on his relationship with Dr. Cox.
It's not coming from a state, at least from my opinion, of assessing this case from logic and separating your role in your relationship with Dr. Cox.
So that's one really good example to me of that's not him changing his opinion.
That's him letting emotion invade his opinion.
There's another one where the doctor talks about observing the children together with him or the child together with Dr. Cox and says they're loving and caring.
And I don't think that this could have happened because what I'm observing in the
emergency room or in the evaluation room seems to be a loving and appropriate relationship.
That's the type of judgments that were being made in some of these medical records and reports and that's not making a medical diagnosis.
That's not how medicine is practiced.
There's a study of 4,670 infants who died in a co-sleeping setting.
3,218 of those infants had a complete skeletal survey after they passed away.
Not a single one of those children had a clavicle fracture as a result of co-sleeping.
There were 10 cases total where there were fractured bones in the child's body, but none of them were clavicle fractures.
think that just epitomizes a lot of my frustrations with this case.
This happened back in May of 2019, and I didn't issue charges until January of 2020.
