And one of his big disappointments in life was he didn't get to star in more films.
uh, cowboy pictures.
People often associate them with Westerns.
In fact, I think he only did like five Westerns in his whole movie career.
And he was actually sore at Jack Warner for not casting him in more of those.
But the problem with Reagan was that the people who were the actor, the leading men who were good in action pictures, that was like, you know, John Wayne, uh, Carrie, uh, uh, you know, Gary, uh, uh, Carrie Grant, uh, uh, Gary Cooper.
I met Gary, you know, people who had, uh,
And Reagan was handsome and affable, but he just did not have that kind of underlying danger.
You could just not imagine this guy's going to gun down somebody because he was too nice of a guy.
And what he was really strong in, but he didn't like to hear this,
He was really strong in romantic comedies.
He was kind of the nice guy that often got the girl.
And that was really his strong suit.
But he wanted to be this kind of macho action star, which he never really was.
And he did his own stunts as well, right?
Yeah, he certainly did some of his own stunts.
And at one point, you know, got pneumonia.
In The Bargain, he lost hearing in one of his ears because he had these guns with blanks being fired right next to him.
So yeah, and actually one of the things he didn't do, again, he didn't do a lot of cowboy pictures, but the few that he did, he really liked because he loved riding a horse.
And so he actually got to ride a horse in those movies.
