Truly rock bottom, I sort of felt on this day, which, you know, it was funny.

It's a funny day.

So I think it was maybe that juxtaposition of despair in the midst of this funny series of events that made it stick with me.

No.

I ride my bike to work, and it's my favorite time of the morning and my favorite time of the evening.

And usually when I bike, I don't listen to anything, but that's when I pull together stories.

And so I think I'd been working this around in my brain for a while.

So then when the call for stories came out, it was sort of there, sort of partially formed.

And so I wanted to be a really good doctor.

I wanted to be a good researcher.

I wanted to be a good mother.
