She is a very... By the time we meet her in Scotland...
She's almost a carbon copy of her mother emotionally in that she sees things in a very black and white manner.
She sees things as good and bad is the way I saw her.
She's a very forceful personality by this stage and will do anything to keep these wolves safe and to repopulate them into the Scottish Highlands.
So she lives with her twin sister, Aggie.
Aggie is a shadow of the former self we see as children.
So she's no longer this forceful character who will punch somebody in the face with a poetry book in order to protect her sister.
The character Aggie, who Inti shares her life with and her house with, never interacts with anybody else.
And so for a great deal of the book, I found myself wondering whether she really existed or not, whether she was part of Inti's imagination.
There is.
And in this book, there's something really magical.
Well, there's something magical about twins.
You know, there's something otherworldly about them and the relationships that culture has led us to believe that they have.
You know, their special powers at understanding each other, their secret languages and things like that.
This book really plays on that so beautifully.
And that mystery of whether or not she exists is,
is made even more murky by all the sort of magic that comes around twins.
So maybe that is it, Kate.
So my family are pretty much all from the Isle of Skye, which is off the west coast of Northern Scotland.
