When we talk about print and when we're also talking about school readiness, what is appropriate for a five-year-old to have to be prepared for in terms of print?
Because there will be some parents who will be, you know, trying to push their kids to be able to write their name by five and some parents who won't have been looking at letters at all.

And I guess it probably depends on the child, but what would you say is developmentally appropriate at that age?
My three-year-old actually just said to me recently, she pointed at the words and she said, Mummy, read this.
And I thought, I'm so glad that she knows that.
Yep.
That is words.
And when I'm reading to her, that's what I'm doing now.
Yeah, stick to the lower case.
That's a good reason to kind of wait until, unless your child is really demanding it, to wait until school because then you have someone who's trained in this, teaching your child the right way from the beginning.

You can try and feel like you're being proactive, but actually there are other things.
I think that first doesn't always mean the best when it comes to learning.
I mean, I think it's more accuracy is what you're after.
