Does play-based learning change in definition at all when it comes to primary, or is it the same thing?

Because some, and obviously I'm only talking about your situation here, every school in ECE is going to be different, but there is a perception, rightly or wrongly, that kids go to ECE, they get this kind of play-based learning, they go to school and that play-based learning falls off a cliff and it's like structured sit on the mat time.

From what age would you say that that is actually the approach in school or would you never describe a classroom setting as a formal rigid environment?
In saying that about not getting young ones to sit down, I don't know what kind of magic ECUs work where I get these pictures and my daughter is sitting there and she's eating like couscous or something that she would never at home.
