I was moving houses a lot when I moved over.

I had no secure family base when I was over there.

And then I got to live with Liz Mulliner, the casting agent.

who did Shine and Babe and all those big films.

And I got, she cast me in Home and Away and she promised my parents that if I was ever in danger or I had nowhere to live that was comfortable, because I think I was the first actor to come from another state to join the show for such a big role.

And so it was a big responsibility.

I had no parents all of a sudden.

I had no family all of a sudden.

So Liz said, come live with me in my house in Paddington, my house.

It's glorious.

In fact, I was saying last night, is it for sale, anyone?

Does anyone know if that house on Underwood Street in Sydney is for sale?

And they're like, oh, go check it out.

Maybe it is.

You could put a little letter thing.

This home for me was the beginning of my independence.

I lived with Liz Mulliner and her four children.

She was the head of NIDA at the time.

So I would come home from set of Home and Away and we would have George Miller at the table.

Cate Blanchett would be there.
