And I think understanding that you have different seasons is a key to having a really happy reading life because then you can accept them as they come.
Well, I'll tell you that at the time I wasn't saying that.
At the time I was saying, what is wrong with me that this is all I want to read?
Also, it was really like about like what I could afford.
Like I was going to a lot of library book sales and you could get like a bag of books for a really cheap amount and I was like broke as a joke.
So that was a part of it.
But I at the time during that season, I coming from, you know, from the time I was little, I really liked scary books.
And then all of a sudden I hit this period of time after I had my daughter, which is when I became a mom for the first time.
And I was like, oh no.
I can't read scary books anymore.
I was an English major.
I've I have a degree in English.
All of a sudden I couldn't read detailed books that took a lot of bandwidth anymore.
Like I changed substantively as a reader from like 20 to 30.
And I was I spent a lot of that time bemoaning the fact that I didn't read as much.
Like I went from reading a lot to reading maybe
15 books a year for a couple of especially the first couple of years of both of my kids' lives.
You know, maybe 12 books a year.
So I was worried I would never pick up the pace again.
And then I was also worried that I would just never like that I'd lost all my reading brain cells.
