That is as egregious a flaw as why did we do 30% over estimated, right?
We don't want that kind of deviation.
We wanna get our, like,
We can estimate accurately within a half a percent.
That's to execute on a project.
I'm willing to go in with a fixed sum contract, not cost plus, fixed sum.
I'm happy to show the client all of the numbers in the estimate and how we got there, you know, full transparency up until the point that we start executing, but it's not cost plus it's now it's not the onus is on me to actually execute on that thing.
Right.
And know that when we come up the other side of that, barring, barring something weird, we should be tracking right on.
And if we're,
This is a true story.
When we go through projects, if we tracked significantly better than we had estimated, that's a refund to the client.
Right?
Because I'm after accuracy, right?
The goal isn't to bloat your estimate so that you're bloated, right?
The goal is to be accurate, and then you can be honest, and you can say, this is the cost.
And that's going to be like, your speech is going to reflect that the client's going to feel that, you know, your numbers and that is the cost.
And, and if you write them a check at the end of the project, like how many contractors give clients money back at the end of a project?
But if I, but if, but Hey, but if we were all like, if we finished that project and we had aimed for a 42% margin and I'm, you know, sitting at 43%.
That wasn't what I sold.
