So if I said $168, right?
Minus 40%, I'll get 100.
So the margin, that's a 40% margin, not a 40% markup.
right?
So a 68% markup yields a 40% margin.
It's a function of time.
Cool.
Let me answer that.
But let me also first note, one of the advantages of COPE
I w I will argue is that whether or not you, so there's a fundamental difference between pricing and estimating.
Those are two totally different tasks, but whether or not you fully grasp margin or markup and the difference, the nuance between the two, when you use the cope method, because what you're really describing in that method, when you say profit is,
what you really expect to extract as profit, you have a, that number is a much more of a real number, right?
And it will change the profitability.
Our company went from doing, feeling good about eight and a half percent net profit
to feeling good about 18 to 22% net profit.
And we've been doing somewhere like 20, 21, 22 net profit for quite a while now.
I think in our industry, a lot of folks think that's hard to achieve.
I'll push back and say, it's not actually that hard to achieve.
Um, and it doesn't mean that you become overpriced.
It's you get really good clarity on what things really cost and you stop sticking a sharp stick in your eye and taking on projects that you can't afford to produce, right?
