That was the real important part of it because John was very respected, as was Ron at the time.
And that really helped me become accepted as a part of this business and that I was really in this, for what I knew now, was the long haul.
And it really helped me get along with the locker room.
And that's one of the things I've seen with a lot of people today and a lot of our younger announcers that have come in.
We don't have that anymore because there isn't a lot of live events and there's not a lot of driving between cities and shows.
It's hard for a lot of these younger guys and girls to come in here from the outside world and become accepted into our world because they don't have what they used to have in the past.
And that's what I've been trying to do and help a lot of these youngsters out as they start out.
So when I started in the business, Kevin Dunn told me, it's going to take you 10 years to get comfortable in this role.

And I'm still learning today.

You know, in those drives with the boys, learning about the business, the biggest thing that I learned early on in my career, well, the two biggest things I learned early on were psychology and emotion.
Psychology, just the basic understanding of good guy, bad guy.
