Yes, I did a couple of tours in Sarajevo during the Bosnian Civil War.
And that was a pretty freaky situation.
The second time I went in, the Serbs had shut the airport down.
And we basically couldn't get out.
So we were as much...
prisoners at the time, as everyone else within Sarajevo was.
So we spent a number of months living in burnt out, ruined apartments, using furniture for firewood because there was no heat.
And they would turn the water on one hour a day.
So you'd have to take these huge jugs and walk downtown and get these jugs filled up with water so you could cook pasta or whatever you had left for meals at the night.
It was a pretty intense scene.
And being able...
to go to the UN headquarters once a week and use their fax machine to fax my then girlfriend, now wife at the time, that, hey, I'm okay.
And that was the only contact that we would have.
Through a fax machine.

Yeah, it was a pretty wild time.
So I had some pretty unique experiences.
In fact, I covered three presidential campaigns, including Bill Clinton in 1992.
