Jayapal really tried to emphasize, well, this is about the survivors.
The survivors aren't happy.
And Thomas Massey also, I think, had a moment in exchange with her where he said, you know, these redactions are not we wanted these redactions to protect the victims.
You're not protecting the victims.
So I think this this moment that we're looking at here really sort of neuters what's been a signature argument.
But I think Republicans generally are going to be supportive of the attorney general.
They have backed her against what they see as kind of Democrat excesses.
I think one thing that's been very striking is there's been calls for Epstein accountability outside of government.
And those have had mixed success.
But for example, we're seeing that the Epstein files have really caused a reckoning over in the UK.
And despite that,
File showing ties between Jeffrey Epstein and all these members of the administration.
It's just there doesn't seem to be any movement on getting any of them to step down.
The Lutnick thing is obviously very striking, given his comments last year completely at odds with the reality and that he admitted willfully to Congress that he was wrong and that he had, in fact, had continued his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein after the election.
sex offense charges have been widely noted.
So yeah, I mean, look, Trump digs his heels in when he's called on to do anything.
It's been quite striking to see no movement on the front.
I don't know how much longer that will last.
And look, right now, the only Republican who's really called for any accountability of members of the administration is Thomas Massey, who's basically an enemy of the president at this point.
I think you need to see more Trump allies start to clamor for something before you see any action here.
