I just want to point out that the Department of Homeland Security might shut down this weekend.
That's also happening here, not related to Epstein.
But there is a deadline, you know, 1159 on Friday, basically to fund Homeland Security Department.
It does not look like the Senate Democrats and the White House and Republicans are any closer to a deal.
So that's what we're watching here.
And actually, they're about to vote in a few minutes.
So I'm going to go try to figure out what's going on there.
But it's looking more likely that that's happening.

I think there's a sense that Republicans in Congress are very worried about how this might affect them in November.

I think perhaps the most striking thing I heard this weekend was James Comer, who's the chairman of the Oversight Committee, saying that he thought it was time to get ICE out of Minneapolis.
And Comer, not usually a guy to break from the administration.
You have someone like Andrew Garbarino, who's the chair of the Homeland Security Committee in the House, who is usually in lockstep with the administration.
He's also saying that he wants a hearing on this.
So I think you're starting to see Republicans get a little worried.
and that the optics of this are not good.
Obviously they don't like what happened, but I think where they were hesitant to be critical in the aftermath of the shooting of Renee Goode, this incident seems to have sparked a lot more criticism and a lot more concern.
