And we go into this terrible time of darkness.
And you think, OK, but then it turns around and starts coming back because it's going in a loop.
And that must have been like such a kind of expression of sacred loyalty 3,000 years ago.
They must have really felt that the sun or the God is always with you.
You know, the joy will never go away.
No matter how dark your winter, there will be February, March, April, May.
May.
May, just now, next week.
And Sagadawa is the big Tibetan Buddhist.
They celebrate the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of the Buddha.
And they do that down in Calvin and Jampaling next Saturday.
So what will you do?
They will do what they call a puja, which is really, again, a little ritual fire.
You know, they'll do a certain amount of chanting and prayers, guru yoga, in the shrine room.
And then they'll come outside and they'll make a big circle.
And they literally just, the Rinpoche, the Tibetan leader of the community, will light a little fire and put a few little palm or leyland branches on it and it gets a nice little smoke going.
They'd call it a smoke puja, an offering to the gods that it's the light.
But again, the funny thing is they're talking about the light.
The light is always with you.
And I think if I'm in the doldrums in winter, I still know that within the darkness there is light.
