But I was sort of part of the, I don't know, 1.2 wave, if you want to call it that, got in fairly early.
But I was lucky enough to interact with those people, learn from them.
Back then, it was very collegial, and you'd have Eric Tulsky commenting on your blog, critiquing the thing that you just built, and so it's a very humbling experience.
So to go from that to where we are today, where the people that you interacted with and participated in this with are winning Stanley Cups, I mean, it's a pretty big deal for sure.
Well, I think a lot of people, yeah, that book had a massive influence on me.
And that came at just the right time.
You could argue that baseball's got some advantages over the continuous flow of sports in terms of how you might analyze it.
But it's just the same kind of thinking.
You're trying to break down a problem, understand the constituent parts of how something happens.
So when you got to read those things, you could hear about how other sports are doing it.
And, of course, it starts to create ideas and creates a momentum of its own.
So, yeah, that book had a massive influence on me.
It was one of those ones I think I read it in five hours or something.
I couldn't put it down.
And one of those life-changing things.
And obviously the movie's pretty good too.
I mean, I think it's gone through an interesting evolution over the last 10 years.
You know, when I first got into it, everything was open by definition because there really was no people.
There were no people that were inside teams supplying things.
So all the most interesting things that were being done in the discipline were being done in public.
