And published as academic research.
So it's really since that first wave started to get hired in about 2014 that you started to see these things become internal to teams.
And it creates an interesting dynamic.
It's an asymmetrical field of intellectual property.
And different teams are trying to develop competitive advantages where they can.
And so the teams have been less willing to probably share amongst each other what they're working on, you know, what are their major developments.
But that doesn't say that there still can't be communication with the teams because, you know, there is.
There was the very first conference this season in, I believe it was around May.
of all the heads of analytics across the teams got together in Denver.
And, you know, it's fun.
You get to sort of talk about the shared challenges that you all have outside of the concept of building a model.
You might have challenges in how you access data from the league or, you know, how we're all going to negotiate with our primary data providers, you know, this type of thing.

We may not be sharing exactly what we're doing, but it's just sort of nice to know that other people are in the same shoes that you are.

I mean, one of my closest colleagues is Dom Zerim with the Oilers, and so he's one of our cap analysts, and he's essentially embedded on our team.
That's how serious we take it and the link between analytics and technology and the cap.
These are quantitative problems, so why wouldn't you analyze them using the same sort of rubric?
